Professor Constantine Kontoghiorghes is a faculty member at the Cyprus University of Technology,
where he is responsible for the Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour and Leadership curriculum.
He has extensively researched the topics of learning transfer, motivation to learn, and motivation
to transfer back to the workplace, and has developed the empirically validated “Systemic Training Transfer Model” (STTM).
The uniqueness of the STTM model pertains to the fact that it takes a holistic approach
towards the learning transfer phenomenon and thus in addition to the immediate training
transfer climate it also associates learning transfer effectiveness with systemic work
environmental characteristics, as well as organisational performance.
The organisational characteristics that have been found to be strong predictors of
performance measures are also part of the STTM model and thus incorporated
in the research design of our project.
